About this Nerd

Over the past few years I have been lucky to dip into the world of technology and entrepreneurship. Throughout my career I’ve been privileged to lead some pretty awesome software engineering and product development teams. From 2016 till now, I’ve been the CTO and Technical Co-Founder of two startups that aimed to make the work-life balance a bit more bearable for everyone.

I’ve had the chance to work with startups that have grown to $3MM ARR, mid-sized companies generating $600MM+ ARR, and even large multinational organizations. My work revolves around software and deployment architecture, product innovation, Agile project management, and getting my hands dirty with individual contributions. I absolutely love collaborating closely with my team and driving rapid growth, fostering empathetic teamwork, promoting transparency, cultivating a strong team culture, and making big individual contributions.

I sometimes use my consultancy, Nor’easter Labs, to provide prototyping, product ideation, technology discovery, and product development for unique problem spaces. I find it thrilling to generate innovative ideas for startups, identify possibilities within problem spaces, and rapidly prototype viable solutions. I have a soft spot for cloud-native SaaS applications and deployments, and I love playing around with technologies such as Node.js, NoSQL, NLTK, and integrating pragmatic AI / ML solutions.

But it’s not all tech. I have a lifelong passion for fine arts and creativity. I earned a BFA in printmaking, exploring traditional media. Nowadays, my artwork incorporates AI-based generative technology, digital art, photography, and handcrafted techniques. I’m fascinated by the intersection of art and technology, and using generative technology as a creative tool. You can check out some of my work at Legendary Moonbat.

Beyond my artistic interests, I’m a fan of literature, travel, world cultures, philosophy, animal welfare, and Eastern thought. I have a deep interest in the spiritual philosophies of India and Tibet, particularly Adavaita Vedanta, Mahayana Buddhism, and Non-Dualistic Tantric traditions. These teachings have shaped my views on life, ethics, and the human condition.

Every year, my family and I try to visit Cyprus, a place close to my heart due to personal connections to family and friends there. It’s a chance for us to connect with loved ones, experience Cypriot culture, and take a breather. I’m particularly drawn to ancient Greek culture and in particular the history Apollon Hylates.

When I’m not working or traveling, I enjoy learning new things, reading, outdoor activities like hiking (or maybe just long walks in the woods), mountain biking, gardening, and spending time with my family. I live in the greater Boston area with my wife Christiana, son Kyle, our dog Roxie, and our cat Pauly Walnuts.
